To secure implementation of the NDP, the Ministry of Regional Development and Local Government has prepared and the Cabinet of Ministers has approved Regulations “By-laws of the National Development Council", which provide for establishment of a collegiate consultative body – the National Development Council.
The National Development Council (hereinafter – Council) is a collegial advisory authority established by the Cabinet the purpose of which activities is to evaluate Latvian long-termstrategic potentialities and to ensure a co-ordinated planning and monitoring of State development.
According to the minutes (clause 1, paragraph 2) of the first meeting of the National Development Council, integration of the functions of the Council for Single Strategy and Development of the National Economy and the National Council for Information Society in the National Development Council has been conceptually supported.
